ABOUT
Martirosyan Marianna, Armenian soprano born in 1992 in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Armenia. She began as a pianist at the Stepanakert Sayat-Nova Music College, and at the age of 13, she began vocal studies. From 2010 to 2013, she studied at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan with K. Karapetyan, and after receiving a Bachelor degree of Musical Art, she continued studying with Gevorg Hakobyan and got a Master’s degree.
In 2014, she reached the semi-finals in Montserrat Caballe International Singing competition, and then she was fully-funded by the organizers to attend Montserrat Caballe Master Class.
She was a member of Young Artists Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theatre for a year from 2015 to 2016, during which she took part in many concerts in Beethoven Concert Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre, and attended masterclasses with Dmitriy Vdovin, Macvala Kasrashvili, Svetlana Nesterenko, Irina Bogacheva, Brenda Hurley, Hedwig Fassbender, Semjon Skigin, Alessandro Amoretti, David Blackburn, Evgeny Nesterenko, Luba Orfenova, and Ernesto Palacio. In 2016, Marianna was invited to join the Young Artists Opera Program of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia. Later in the same year, she was awarded the RA President Prize for high performance art in the category of Vocal Art of classical music. Her other prizes include the Gold Medal in the Youth Delphic Games, Russia, a Diploma and Special Prize at the 13th Aram Khachaturian International Competition, and a Third Prize at the 1st Pyongyang International Vocal Competition, North Korea.
She has had numerous concerts at the Grand Foyer of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia, as well as in other concert halls, and also has performed with conductor Constantin Orbelian in “Tchaikovsky Gala “ concert. In 2019, Marianna attended a one-week masterclasse with Prof. Cheryl Studer in Bad Steben , and in the summer of the same year, she was awarded a scholarship by Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute (POVAI) and International Opera Auditions (NYIOP) to complete a four-week course study in Trani, Italy, in addition to two free NYIOP audition sessions for the 19/20 season.
